Situated in the countryside above the Tyrrhenian Sea, Podere Il Pino is located just a couple miles from the beach. This agriturismo offers comfortable, self-sufficient apartments in a relaxing and friendly environment run by a family that lives within the estate grounds. Each apartment varies in size and can sleep from 2 to 8 people. Refined in classic Tuscan style, the apartments include a kitchen and dining/living area, spacious tiled bathroom, and either one or two bedrooms. These green apartments benefit from solar-powered light and heat and are equipped with both heaters and air-conditioners. After spending the afternoon at the guests-only pool, enjoy an evening BBQ on the private patio outside each apartment. The gated grounds are children friendly with a playground, ping-pong table and foosball. The estate, which includes the surrounding fields of olives and grapes, produces its own personal supply of wine and olive oil, exclusively for the family and their guests at extremely affordable prices. The local area offers a variety of activities.

Enjoy a visit to these nearby places:

Bolgheri- Described in poetry for its cypress-lined road running directly to the village doors, the ancient town of Bolgheri and its 800's castle lie among olive groves and vineyards overlooking the Tuscan coastline. Besides its timeless beauty as an old-world village, Bolgheri is well known for its fine wines, including Sassicaia, produced from the grapes cultivated in the surrounding fields.

Venturina- Don't miss a day trip to the thermal baths at the Calidario Spa in Venturina for a relaxing and rejuvenating experience.

Volterra- Originally an ancient Etruscan settlement from the 8th century BC, Volterra lies on a high plateau overlooking the patchworked Tuscan countryside. The pedestrian-friendly town is a great place to visit for its museums, the archaeological park, fine shops and enotecas that offer tastings of local wines and gastronomic specialties. Volterra is also home to the mining of alabaster and its production into fine objects.

Populonia- The area is as rich with culture and history as it is with minerals and iron. Ancient tribes that date back to the 12th century BC settled in Populonia and thrived due to the areas abundance of the minerals and metals that allowed for the civilization's development and stability in commercial activity and trading. Populonia, the ancient village, overlooks the black sand beach and one-time port on the Gulf of Baratti. With the Etruscans' (c. 6th century BC) further development of the use of iron, Populonia became the most important center for iron in the Mediterranean.

Isle of Elba- Known for its natural beauty and landscape and infamously known as the home to Napoleon Bonaparte where he lived from 1814-1815 during his exile from France. The villas he constructed on the small island and the traces of his projects attest to the grand plans of this self-proclaimed emperor which were halted after his escape from the island then recapture by France. Ferry boats to Elba depart daily from the port of Piombino and return by dusk, depending on the season.
